Trimble e-Builder Leverages GovRAMP for Government Cybersecurity

Why did your organization become a GovRAMP member? 

GovRAMP has solidified itself as the de facto standard for state, local, and education (SLED) risk management. By utilizing GovRAMP's compliance program, state and local governments can minimize compliance costs without sacrificing access to the cloud-based product marketplace. As a product listed on the GovRAMP approved product list, Trimble’s e-Builder Enterprise Government Edition offers its cloud-based digital product delivery solution for owners of capital improvement programs to many state and local governments. Trimble realized the importance of joining GovRAMP to ensure uninterrupted access to these governmental and educational environments. With reciprocity agreements with FedRAMP and a well-staffed and supportive project management office, GovRAMP strives to benefit its members by providing an environment for cooperation between SLED and cloud service providers. 

How do you stay up to date with the evolving cybersecurity landscape? 

Cybersecurity is a journey, not a destination. By complying with FedRAMP, GovRAMP, TX-RAMP, and various other commercial compliance programs, an organization can minimize the impact of the cybersecurity journey. While assessments ensure compliance health each year, the continuous monitoring process enforced by GovRAMP provides rigorous and frequent reviews of the cybersecurity posture of the cloud service offering. Additionally, cyber alerts from government agencies like CISA, compliance program offices, security tools, and many others help keep organizations current on cyber threats, including zero-day vulnerabilities. Subscribing to the GovRAMP newsletter provides an overview of upcoming changes to the program, state requirements, and other relevant areas. Finally, open communication with the GovRAMP PMO is critical. A cloud service provider should never act alone or in a vacuum when addressing cybersecurity.
