GovRAMP Welcomes New Board Member Tony Sauerhoff

April 22, 2025 – Indianapolis, IN — GovRAMP is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Sauerhoff, State Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the State of Texas, to its Board of Directors. Sauerhoff will serve as a director, succeeding Ted Cotterill following his departure from public service in the State of Indiana.

As State CISO, Sauerhoff leads enterprise cybersecurity strategy for the State of Texas, one of the nation’s most expansive and complex digital infrastructures. His extensive leadership in information security and public sector risk management will further strengthen GovRAMP’s mission to advance secure cloud adoption for state and local governments.

“We are honored to welcome Tony to the GovRAMP Board,” said J.R. Sloan, President of GovRAMP. “His leadership and expertise in state government cybersecurity are invaluable as we continue working to drive consistency, trust, and transparency across public sector cloud security.”

GovRAMP expresses its sincere appreciation to Ted Cotterill for his years of dedicated service. As a founding board member and a key contributor to the organization’s governance and strategy, Cotterill played a pivotal role in shaping GovRAMP’s foundation and advancing its growth.

“On behalf of the entire GovRAMP community, we thank Ted for his contributions and leadership,” Sloan added. “We wish him continued success in his future endeavors.”

The appointment of Sauerhoff reinforces GovRAMP’s continued commitment to elevating public sector cybersecurity and supporting government leaders in protecting sensitive data in the cloud.
